Amazon is the only online company to make it onto the top 10 global retailers. The revenue of Amazon as of 2016 was 135.98 billion US dollars. The company, operating under Amazon.com, has separate retailing websites for different countries. For example, for India, the website is Amazon.in and for U.A.E., it is Amazon.ae. Amazon was listed as the most valuable public company of the United States pushing Wal-Mart to the second place in 2015.

The company was established by Jack Cohen in 1919 and the first store was opened 10 years later in Burnt, Oak Barnet. The company is headquartered on Mϋlheim, Germany. The revenue of the company as of 2015 was 82,164 billion US dollars.
